Coaches Wanted!
We are looking for coaches that would be interested in helping out at our upcoming development programs.

YOUTH & JUNIOR PROGRAMMES
KINETIC YOUTH
Is a youth movement program that will be open to athletes between the ages of 7-12 years old. Focusing on a play-based approach to dynamic movement patterns that are the foundation of sports, highlighting softball specific pattern per session. The program will run two consecutive weeks in each hub.

CAPITAL STARS
Is a girls only softball program catering to athletes that are eligible for the U13 and U15 age grades. Focusing on building their skills, game IQ, confidence, and female community within the sport. Ran by women from with national and regional playing experince. The program will run three consecutive weeks in each hub.
HIGH PERFORMANCE PROGRAMMES
BETWEEN THE LINES
This will be an online program allowing athletes of all ages to learn the rules of the game, increase softball IQ, and work on mindset training. Including discussion, games, quizzes, guest speakers, and end in a weekly challenge. These sessions will run for an hour to an hour and a half each.

HIGH PERFORMANCE PATHWAY
This program will be a program catering to athletes that have been a part of the WSA Representative program or this right on the cusp that are invited to join. Times dates and locations will vary depending on resources, however, estimated duration will be mid-August to mid-December. Building the skills necessary to perform at the highest level of the game through a holistic approach of coaching the whole athlete. Focusing on 5 main pillars: psychical skill, mental training, strength, nutrition, hormones. Ideally this will be run by myself and representative coaches. Spaces Indoor facilities, outdoor spaces, weight room, conference room.

WSA CAMPS
SCHOOL HOLIDAY CAMPS
WSA will be hosting youth holiday day camps! These camps are focused on teaching youth softball players the skills of our game through an engaging fun-focused program. These camps are the perfect holiday opportunity to practice softball skills through games, drills, and modified play!

REGIONAL CAMPS
These camps are designed to offer in-depth skill set training to athletes of all age grades. Run in a circuit-based style of training focusing on biomechanical skill specific drills and game application. Each hub will have a P/C, fielding, and hitting.

Brittany Jacobsen
Brittany Jacobsen is the current Game Development Officer for the Wellington Softball Association. Within her position she serves to develop and support the wider Lower North Island softball community including players, coaches, and game support roles such as umpires and scorers. All together Brittany has nine years of coaching and twelve years of playing experience. Within her coaching career thus far she has worked with youth, high school, travel ball, collegiate, and professional levels. Her educational background has earned her a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in coaching. She also holds certifications as an assisted stretch therapist and in functional range conditioning.
Joining us from her most recent role with the Berlin Flamingos Bundesliga where she was the Player Development Coordinator. In her time with the Berlin Flamingos she assisted in developing the foundations of a young women’s softball program ending with more season wins to any perious year. She also served as the assistant coach for the men’s baseball first team focusing on hitting, catching, and in game field adjustments. Ending the season as division champions. Prior to her season with the Berlin Flamingos Brittany spent several years offering skills set, peak performance, strength, speed and agility training throughout the United States. These notable organizations include Phase One Hawaii, The Do Method, Rugged Softball, and High Level Throwing. Before moving into the focus of player development she coached multiple teams from youth to the collegiate level. As an athlete Brittany was a versatile player starting in every position besides the mound. Being highly decorated, receiving accolades in every year of competition no two in the same position.
Brittany will be leading pitching and catching academies, regional development camps, new-player programmes, in-school softball sessions, representative development programme and more. She is currently developing a peak performance program to give athletes and coaches more resources to elevate the mental training side of the game.

It is my goal to help everyone that engages with me to elevate their game physically and mentally. Striving to providing the best environment to fail, learn, and in return grow; leading to athletic success! I look forward to continuing the support to our athletes, coaches, and wider softball community by offering consistent accessible opportunities throughout Wellington.”
